Parenting is a highly personal topic that consumes us everyday. We have been blessed with the presence of these amazing beings in our lives who have so much to share with the world.
We have moments of brilliance and experience bouts of self-doubt. We want what is best for our children, yet are not always sure of the most effective way to get there. In a rapidly changing world this generation of parents is navigating through uncharted territory… We are doing our best to pass on what we value most from our own childhoods, while we strive to leave behind old patterns of behavior.
Why refer to parenting as an art? Because it is a journey that is unique to every individual—it is a journey of self-discovery. With parenting it is the process that matters, the little moments, the tiny gestures, and more often than not we already have the answers we seek within ourselves. While we can glean insight from research and parenting experts, they can never replace a parent’s understanding and intuition when it comes to their own children. And despite what popular culture tells us, there IS more than one right way to be good at it.
